The views from the lodge were absolutely breathtaking, with stunning panoramic views of the mountains and vineyards. It was such a treat to wake up and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. the location of the lodge, between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, was also ideal, providing easy access to both towns and their attractions.
One of the major drawbacks of our stay was the lack of a restaurant on-site. This meant that we had to drive into town for evening meals, which was inconvenient and took away from the overall experience.

During my recent stay at Banhoek Lodge, I was blown away by the breathtaking vineyard and mountain views from my room balcony. The staff warmly welcomed me and kindly helped me with my luggage. I opted for breakfast in bed, which was a delightful experience. The reception staff also recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner, which turned out to be fantastic. The highlight of my room was the bathtub strategically placed next to a large window, offering a stunning view of the vineyards and mountains. As it was my 40th birthday, my husband arranged for flowers, balloons, and sparkling wine for breakfast with the help of the staff, who surprised me with a lovely birthday serenade. The breakfast itself was absolutely delicious, with home-made pumpkin bread that left me craving for more. Additionally, there were complimentary wine tasting vouchers for two nearby wine farms, which added to the overall charm of my stay.
The hotel experienced frequent power cuts, known as load shedding, during my stay. This caused inconveniences such as no air conditioning and no water in the evening when I returned from a wedding.

I had the most memorable stay at Banhoek Lodge! The views from my room were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to vineyards and mountains right outside my balcony was truly a treat. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel so welcome. They even went above and beyond to make my 40th birthday extra special, arranging flowers, balloons, and sparkling wine for breakfast. The breakfast itself was delicious, especially the homemade pumpkin bread. I also loved the complimentary wine tasting vouchers that were provided, allowing me to explore the nearby wine farms. The room was comfortable and the bed was so cozy. I would highly recommend this hotel for a truly unforgettable experience.
While my stay at Banhoek Lodge was incredible, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. the hotel is located close to a main road, so there was some traffic noise throughout the day.

The breakfast was incredible! the cook was great and her cuisine was delicious. We had breakfast on the terrasse with an amazing view. It was brilliant. We also liked that there are plenty of restaurants around the lodge and the receptionist helped us pick the right places for us. She was very helpful and thoughtful.
We experienced a power outage during our stay, which affected our vacation. the hotel was the only facility with power problems in the area, indicating the need for proper maintenance.

The staff was incredibly helpful throughout our entire stay, from the moment we made our reservation. The view from our room was simply outstanding, and we couldn't get enough of it. The location was also a huge plus, as it was incredibly convenient and there were several wineries within walking distance. We loved the fact that we could enjoy breakfast on our terrace at no extra cost, such a delightful bonus. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, allowing us to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring.
While our overall experience was great, there were a few hiccups along the way. The receptionist seemed a bit grumpy when we wanted to order a cheese platter in the evening, even though the info brochure stated we could do so before 8pm.
